The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs is responsible for curriculum and faculty. The office is headed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost and also includes the Associate Provost, the Associate Dean for Academic Programs, the Director of Academic Affairs, the Director of Academic Personnel Records, and the Administrative Manager of Academic Affairs.
New faculty positions are created by the office in consultation with the President. Every tenure track hire recommended by the Academic Departments is interviewed by the Provost.
The Provost and other Academic Affairs officers meet on a regular basis with Academic Department chairs to review policies and procedures and to support the departments and faculty.
The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs assists faculty in all matters pertaining to curriculum, i.e., new degrees, changes in existing degrees, new courses, and changes in existing courses, before submission to college governance; manages the instructional budget and other academic support programs; manages faculty records and generates instructional payroll; is responsible for ensuring compliance with all college, university, and state education policies as spelled out in the appropriate documents; oversees the following areas:
