The emphasis is on learning ways of helping people lead satisfying, productive lives and/or preventing the onset of serious emotional of psychological problems.

Upon completion of the program our students have been accepted to human service, social work and psychology programs at a wide range of four-year colleges, including Adelphi University, Brooklyn College, Hunter College, John Jay College, Lehman College, Mount Holyoke College, New York City Technical College, New York University, York College, and many others.
